Sizing Information

The ANATOMICORE footbeds are based on EUROPEAN sizing

Finding Your Size

If you already know your European sandal size — from any supportive sandal or orthotic footwear brand — that’s your ANATOMICA size. You’re done.

If you only know your running shoe size, read this first.

Running shoes are sized differently to sandals. Most people find their running shoe size runs 1–2 European sizes larger than their sandal size. For example, someone who wears a size 37 in sandals will often wear a 38.5 or 39 in running shoes. If you order based on your runners without checking, there’s a good chance you’ll be swimming in the ANATOMICA sandals.

The most reliable way: measure your foot

Takes two minutes and removes all the guesswork.

1. Stand up — don’t do this sitting down. Your feet shorten when you’re off them.
2. Trace both feet on a piece of paper. Have someone help if you can. We all have one foot that’s a little longer or wider, so measure both and fit to the larger one.
3. Measure the length from the very back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe — which may not be your big toe.
4. Match that measurement to the chart below to find your size.

One important note on fit:

The footbed is designed to hold you snugly at the heel and toe — that’s how it works. Please don’t size up hoping for extra room. If your toes sit close to the edge, that’s correct. Long toes can be accommodated, so if you’re between sizes, go smaller rather than larger.

FOOT SHAPES

WIDE FEET?

If you have a wide foot, you may need to size up if your foot is more than 5mm wider than the footbed.

NARROW FEET?

No problem. Our footbed generally curves well around narrow feet & the 3 adjustable straps usually allow a secure fit.

BUNIONS?

If you have large (score 3) bunions (see our bunion - technically called Hallux Valgus - self scoring chart below), then shape of the toe area on the Anatomicore footbed may not suit you. However, if you can wear Birkenstocks then you may still be able to wear the Anatomica Sandals.
The main issue? The gap in the footbed where the big toe would normally sit can, in some people, be a trip hazard.
